Information on Library Resources and Services for Education Students.

Intro to the Library

What are your hours?

You can view our current hours here.

How can I log in to the library databases?

Your login is your KCC ID number *with* the lowercase k but *without* the email domain (i.e. k0123456) and the same password you use to log in to the student portal and Moodle. If you have any problems logging in, please contact the library.

How do I get a Library Card?

Do you have a KCC ID? If so, great news! You already have a library card! The first time you come into the Library, we'll stick a barcode on the back of your KCC ID to activate it as your library card.

If you don't have your KCC ID, you can pick one up in the hub enrollment center.

NOTE: For allied health students, your clinical ID is different from a student ID, if you're not sure which you have, a student ID is laid out horizontally and has your full name. Your clinical ID will only list your last name and is laid out vertically.

Can I renew my book?

You can renew your book directly at this link (you will be asked to log in with your K-ID and password). If you have any questions, please call the Library at 269.965.4122

How can I use one of your study rooms?

Just bring your Library Card (student ID) to the main Check-Out Desk and request a room. Rooms are given on a first-come first-serve basis.

Do I have to be on campus to do Library Research?

Nope! You can do Library research from anywhere with an internet connection. If you're off campus you will be asked once to log in with your K-ID and password, and after that you should be good to go! If you're having issues give us a call at 269.965.4122

How do I cite my sources?

That depends on which class you're in! Somewhere on your assignment instructions, you should see directions on which citation style to use. At KCC you will be using APA, MLA, or Chicago.

Once you know which style you're using, visit our Citation Guide for more information on how to use that style. You'll also find lots of helpful information in the Pocket Prof.

Where should I look to find articles?

The discovery search  on our homepage is a great place to start. Here's a video that explains all the tips and tricks of the Discovery Service.

If you still aren't finding what you're looking for, that's when you can use the databases and websites recommended on your subject guide. They'll be more focused on your specific topic and might help you narrow it down. And you can always ask your librarians for help!

How can I get more help?

There are lots of ways to get help from a librarian!

  • You can come into the library and ask your question at the Information Desk.
  • You can check your course guide to see who your subject librarian is and use the information there to contact them directly
  • For more ways to contact the Library (Including a  24/7 Chat) please visit our website.
